  • Model names, capabilities, token limits, and estimated pricing now come from models.dev, with bundled metadata available offline.
  • Keep discovering available models directly from your providers, with consistent image and reasoning support in the model picker and chat.
  • Show known context limits even when pricing is unavailable, and correctly display free token rates in cost estimates.

Trident is now open source

  • Trident is free and open source under AGPL-3.0-only, with signed macOS builds and source code linked from each release.
  • Connect Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, and Azure OpenAI alongside direct Anthropic, OpenAI, and Gemini APIs.
  • Added bundled license notices and clearer documentation for provider requests, OpenAI semantic indexing, and background network activity.
  • Updated the desktop runtime. Requires macOS 13 Ventura or later on Apple Silicon.
  • Fixed the missing runtime dependency that prevented v0.5.0 from launching, and added build and package checks to catch missing modules before release.
  • v0.5.0 was withdrawn. If it cannot open, download v0.5.1 and replace Trident in Applications; your existing project data and settings are preserved.
  • External code contributions are currently closed, but we plan to welcome them in the near future. Bug reports and feature requests are welcome.
